Alison und Solovei trafen sich zwischen den Bücherregalen der Pratt Institute Library in Brooklyn. Eine große Liebe für die Informationswissenschaften verband die Künstlerinnen während und vor allem nach ihren Studien. Ihre Passion und ihre Hingabe führte dazu, dass die beiden im Sommer 2007 „The Public Public Library“ (Die Öffentlich Öffentliche Bibliothek) gründeten. Seitdem expandierte die Bibliothek mit weltweiten Außenstellen und einer nennenswerten Sammlung; sie versorgt die Öffentlichkeit mit wertvollen informativen Ressourcen und Dienstleistungen.
Alison and Solovei met amongst the bookshelves of the Pratt Institute Library in Brooklyn. A strong love of the information sciences brought them together during and especially after their studies. Their passion and dedication led them to found The Public Public Library in the summer of 2007. Since then, the Library has expanded with worldwide branches and amounting collection; bringing valuable information resources and services to the public eye.

Unsere offene Sammlung besteht aus vielfältigen visuellen Ressourcen aus der ganzen Welt. Unser Ziel ist es diese Ressourcen, einem individuellen Wunsch entsprechend, der öffentlichen Sphäre zugänglich zu machen. Wir wollen unsere Besucher unbedingt ermutigen, unsere vollständige Sammlung durchzusehen, ansprechende Stücke auszuwählen und einen bevorzugten Ort für sie zu benennen.
Die Bücherei sollte ihre Lieferung in weniger als drei Wochen vornehmen. Während des Prozesses, werden uns die Besucher helfen, das erste Buch unserer Sammlung zusammenzustellen, ein Ereignis, dem die weltweite Gemeinschaft mit Spannung entgegenblickt.
Our Open Collection consists of various visual resources from around the globe. Our aim is to distribute these resources according to an individual wish within the realm of the public. We urge that our visitors examine our entire collection, pick appealing items and specify a desired location for the items.
The Library should complete its distribution in no more than 3 weeks. In the process, our visitors will help us complete the first book in our collection, a much looked-forward to event within our wordlwide community.
